We are most gratified to note that another Yunus bridge has been built on the web: Yunus Forum – A bridge for Yunus fans – which we’ve clearly influenced.
Lilly and I are listed among the Study Circle and continue to spread Yunus book – the next occasion is at the House of Commons tomorrow. In addition, we are ‘studying’, with the aid of our legal expert in microfinance, how to defend Yunus’ definition of ‘social business’ in Wikipedia.
For ‘social business’ has been around in the UK well before Yunus wrote about it, and the general understanding is: no distribution to investors. But people in the ‘financial economy’ use the language of the ‘real economy’ to justify themselves.
